Innovation Centre

Where customer problems drive better ways to hear, see, connect and respond.

Every idea here started as something a client could not do. Not a product launch — a problem we got tired of watching people struggle with.

Clearasound VENUE CONNECT

One control. Sound, vision and hearing access together.

School halls are the hardest room in the building. Assemblies, presentations, performances and visiting speakers, often run by whoever is free that day. VENUE CONNECT brings sound, vision and hearing augmentation together under one simple control experience — so the hall is ready without technical stress, and without depending on the one staff member who knows the system.

Does your current hall AV…

Take too long to get started?
Require several remotes?
Need someone who knows how it works?
Leave teachers nervous before assemblies?
Not work the way you need it to?
Work sometimes, and other times not?

If you answered yes to any of these, your venue experience can be improved.

Were you aware?

Students learned significantly more when the teacher’s voice was clearer above background noise.

Reading, writing and numeracy gains were comparable to adding an extra one-third of a school semester.

Clear access to classroom communication is a learning issue — not only an accessibility issue. For students with hearing loss, making the teacher’s voice clearer relative to background noise can make instruction easier to follow, reduce listening effort and support more confident classroom participation.

Australian research: the listening-to-learning link

A National Acoustic Laboratories study followed 242 Year 2 students across 12 mainstream Brisbane classrooms. In eight crossover classes, amplification was alternated on and off, so each classroom acted as its own comparison. The system raised the teacher’s voice by an average of 6 dB, helping speech rise above classroom noise and reverberation.

Gains across reading, writing and numeracy were highly statistically significant.
The benefit was similar regardless of the language spoken at home.
Researchers compared the effect to extending each semester by an extra one-third.
Children reported hearing better, clearer or louder; teachers saw improvements in attention, communication and classroom behaviour.
Teachers also reported more class participation and peer interaction, and students growing in confidence.

The Auracast learning connection for today’s classrooms

ACCESSCONNECT uses a different delivery technology from the FM loudspeaker systems studied, but applies the same acoustic principle: improve the teacher’s voice relative to background noise. By sending teaching audio directly to compatible hearing devices and school receivers, Auracast is designed to give students with hearing loss clearer, more consistent access to instruction.

One solution. Two linked benefits: support for hearing augmentation requirements — and the listening conditions in which better learning outcomes can be achieved.

Research note: The measured learning gains were obtained using FM sound-field amplification. ACCESSCONNECT uses Auracast to apply the same teacher-voice-to-background-noise principle directly for connected listeners.

Education alignment

Designed to meet applicable Department of Education requirements for school spaces with amplified sound, with NCC D4D8 considered from the start. Where amplification is installed, hearing augmentation is required to provide access for all.

Inclusive by design

Supports students with hearing loss, neurodiverse needs and sensory challenges — without singling anyone out.

Easy for schools

Simple to install. Easy to use. Better conditions for learning.
